2012 – Port Glasgow Comet Festival
On Saturday 23rd June 2012, members of the Lodge participated in the Port Glasgow Comet Festival Gala Day, held at the Coronation Park, Port Glasgow. The Lodge organised the usual bottle stall, which was supported by donation from members.
The weather was not kind – It poured rain the whole day. Thankfully the organisers supplied marquee’s to keep the stall holder and public dry.
This resulted in a poor torn out from members of the public, who preferred to shelter in the Town Centre rather than expose themselves to the elements at the Coronation Park, which is situated on the banks of the River Clyde.
This did not deter the entertainers on the stage, who battled the elements.
Even the Elvis impersonator joined in with “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain”.
While the Gala Day was poorly attended, the Lodge premises were busy with visitors for the Family Friendly Saturday, where the Right Worshipful Master Brother John Falconer was busy sweating over a hot stove, providing all with hot soup, curry and chilli.
The Right Worshipful Master would like to thank the brethren and friends for supporting the Lodge at the Gala Day Bottle Stall and Family Friendly Saturday in this annual Port Glasgow community event.
